The Planning Commission is made up of seven persons appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council to serve a four-year term that may be renewed.
The Commission is the decision making authority for applications which deal with land uses and land use policy, such as comprehensive plan changes, community development code, planned unit developments, subdivisions, cultural resource alterations, floodplain activity permits and significant natural resource level 2 permit applications.
Decisions of the Commission can be made by minute order or by adoption of a formal Order and findings. Some decisions of the Commission are forwarded to the City Council as recommendations.
No more than two members may be presently or previously engaged in the same occupation, business, trade or profession.
